From The Beginning - A guy trying to quilt.

While one does not normally associate quilting as a guy thing, I decided to give it a try. I have heard of other guys doing quilting. I have even heard of a store called 3 Dudes Quilting. I have been told that guy quilters can come up with some really nice creations (told at quilting shows like the Connections Quilt Festival).

Having a sister who is really into quilting has a big part of it. She has done some really nice quilts. I have received some of those really quilts. They are really nice. I have received a table runner, two place mats (too nice to really use) and some microwave bowl holders (to use to hold a bowl while it is in the microwave and help keep the user from being burned when they extract the bowl and bowl holder).

I bought a Singer Tiny Tailor at a yard sale. I did not pay much for it. I have not even used it yet except to power it on and see if it works. I am reading how to use it from the manual included (also online). I will use it with smaller quilts and in learning how to sew with a sewing machine.
It is intended for repairs and not major sewing projects. It is my beginner machine. It will be interesting to see how well it handles bigger items.

I will be blogging about quilting, quilt shows and festivals, equipment that is used to quilt with, stores and companies that have quilt related items, and the Row by Row Experience that happens every year through out the US, Canada and Europe.
This is for 2016. I have no doubt they will have a 2017 list. I have traveled to a few - this year and last year - getting different rows for my sister. This year was a little different since I bought some for myself.
